I’m not sure who created this tag or even where I found it but it was an awful lot of fun to write!
Edit: Found it! I saw this over at Sammy Ect
The books listed here are all ones I’ve really enjoyed so I hope you find some suggestions for your next read.
A – Author you’ve read the most books from
This one is easy! Tamora Pierce. She is on of my favorite authors and so I own every single on of her books!
B – Best sequel ever
The ‘Heroes of Olympus’ series by Rick Riordan is the sequel to the Percy Jackson & the Olympians and it also another one of my favorite reads. This series isn’t only inspired by Greek mythology but also weaves Roman mythology throughout the story.
C – Currently reading
‘The Barefoot Investor’ by Scott Pape. I was given this book for Christmas and I’m so glad! A whole pile of my friends and read and raved about it, so I am looking forward getting my finances in order for 2018!
D – Drink of choice while reading
Is there any other choice? A hot cup of tea with a spoonful of honey and a dash of milk.
E – E-Reader or Physical books
Both! I find reading ebooks on my iPad just so convenient especially during break time at work, but nothing can beat curling up on the couch with a good paperback.
F – Fictional character you would have dated in High School
Eh, not something I’ve really considered. I did read a lot of Harry Potter fan-fction in high school?
G – Glad you gave this book a chance
‘Seven Ancient Wonders’ by Matthew Reilly. I started reading this on a family holiday because there was literally nothing else to read or do. I wasn’t too keen in the beginning but I told myself I’d read one more page, then one more and by the end of the holiday I had devoured the whole book. Matthew Reilly is now one of my fave authors!
H – Hidden gem book
‘Circle of Pearls’ by Rosalind Laker. Normally I’m not a fan of historical romances but this one has been a favorite from way back. I discover this one through an old Reader’s Digest Condensed book from the early 90s. Since then I’ve purchased the full copy and it’s still my cheesy romance of choice.
I – Important moment in your reading life
‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’. I read this series all through out my childhood and teenage years, and so I can remember very clearly the bitter-sweet moment that I finished the pages.
J – Just finished reading…
‘Big Magic’ by Elizabeth Gilbert. What an inspiring read! She goes through overcoming self-doubt, avoiding perfectionism and embracing your creative side. Plus I really click with her writing style.
K – Kinds of books you won’t read
I can’t say there is a type of book I wouldn’t read but I certainly to tend to gravitate to certain genre’s and forget about others.
L – Longest book you’ve read
At 1664 pages, the longest book I have read is ‘Lord of the Rings’ by J. R. R. Tolkien.
M – Major book hangover because of…
‘The Six Sacred Stones’ by Matthew Reilly. This book finished on the biggest cliff hanger I have ever experienced and it killed me having to wait two years to find out what happened next.
N – Number of book cases you own
When I moved out of my parents place I had a major clean out and donated about half of my collection and even then I was left with three full book shelves.
O – One book you’ve read multiple times
‘Black Beauty’ by Anna Sewell. I went through a major horsey phase when I was in primary school
P – Preferred place to read
On the couch. I love getting involved in a book but still having people move around me. Although when I’m really getting into a book, I’ll hole up in my bedroom.
Q – Quote that inspires you / gives you the “feels”
“Promise me you’ll remember, you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think”
– Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne
R – Reading regret
Trying to slog through books because they’re popular and not reading books I’ve been interested in because people bag that genre out. Not cool!
S – Series you started, but need to finish
‘A Song of Fire and Ice’ by George R. R. Martin. I’ve held off finishing the books because I’m so in love with the tv series, with that coming to an end soon, I’ll start the series up again when the tv series has finished.
T – Three of your all-time favorite books.
In no particular order:
– ‘Ramses: The Son of the Light’ by Christian Jacq
– ‘Dreaming of Dior’ by Charlotte Smith
-‘Robopocalypse’ by Daniel H. Wilson
Trust me! I have more than three. These are just the first that popped into my mind.
U – Unapologetic fangirl for…
Harry Potter. What can I say? I got the second book for my 11th birthday and I was hooked!
V – Very excited for this release more than any others
In December, Matthew Reilly dropped a hint about a new Jack West Jr book coming out in 2018. I can’t wait!
W – Worst habit
Borrowing too many books from my local library and not giving myself any time to read them before the due date.
X- X Marks the Spot: the 27th book on your shelf
‘Farenheight 451’ by Ray Bradbury. This book was selected for discussion when I was part of a sci-fi & fantasy book club at university. It resonated a lot with me especially when you compare it with today’s society.
Y – Your latest book purchase
‘The Happiness Project’ by Gretchin Rubin. I actually own this in an e-book format but I loved it so much I bought a print copy for my bookshelf.
Z – Zzzz snatcher:
‘The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up’ by Marie Kondo. I know everyone raves about it but I could only get about 1/4 of the way through the book. It was just too fanciful and it just didn’t click with me…
Let me know if you decide to give this one a go!
